For some, the smell of oil is akin to that of a fine perfume, the rush of invention is the only motivation one needs, and the eternal battle against corrosion is a constant annoyance. These individuals, the tinkers, are exemplars of the unfettered creative spirit. It is this creative spirit, the constant thirst for new ideas, that propels them to seek the unknown, whether it be found in a library or in the dark depths of an ancient tomb.  Supported by a vast array of custom automatons, an experienced tinker, while not a fierce combatant on his own, commands an exceptionally versatile squadron that more than makes up for his own deficiencies.


The Tinker: Master of Modular Mechanical Mayhem is the end result of months of playtesting and development. Presented herein is the Tinker base class, an individual who can be described as a "non-spellcaster spellcaster". The domain of the tinker is the mundane. While others dominate the battlefield with arms and arcane might, the tinker does so through mechanical means.

The tinker's greatest asset is the variety of machines he can bring to bear in a fight. Small, mindless automatons make up the bulk of this power, but experienced tinkers are capable of building autonomous Alphas that act as the tinker's #2. Sentient, the alpha can eventually learn to order around the automatons so the tinker doesn't have to. Further, truly skilled tinkers are followed around by a swarm of nanobots. This swarm is capable of rending most any material into its constituent pieces and then rebuilding it into something useful. Many of the dragonscale breastplates that exist in the world today were crafted from a dragon in six seconds flat by a tinker swarm.

To allow for maximum modularity, the tinker has a brand new magic-like system: inventions! Tinkers can learn inventions, place them into blueprints, and then deploy automatons based on those blueprints.

The Tower of Horesk is an ancient edifice built upon the edge of the Grausumlands. Its dark stones sit upon an island-anchorage in the midst of a deep morass of bogs, saw grass, and gray, stagnant water. The tower sits like an obelisk, rising from the fog and waters.

Adventure’s road brings those stout of heart to the Tower’s iron bound gate. Whether brought here by the trail of the Vessel of Souls or by pure happenstance, the Tower, perched upon the edge of no-where, beckons, promising wealth and glory. But this is no abandoned dungeon. Fire-light spills from the windows that adorn its stark stones, and noise from inside carries over the still morass. Here is wealth and plunder, but danger as well and those who would pry open its doors must approach with some caution for inside lies ancient powers who reside upon the material planes to feed upon the weak and innocent.

Whether pursuing the Vessel of Souls as discovered in A8 The Forsaken Mountain, or coming upon the Tower through a regular adventure, A9 The Helm of Night offers characters plenty of adventure as they set out to explore, not an abandoned dungeon, but a tower filled with creatures most foul.

The Helm of Night is an adventure designed for 3-5 characters of 9th-11th level. It is designed for a single night’s play or at longest over several sessions. It is fully compatible with any ongoing campaign game or played as part of the A series adventure modules. The Helm of Night is primarily an indoor adventure.

This is a BASIC version of the full Print&Play game. This version has 266 cards compared to the full game having 538. It will still give you a good idea of the game, and all the components here are part of the full game, so will not need to be re-created should you upgrade.

SS/Underworld is a multi-player card game in which you play a fantasy Hero in search of a legendary treasure, guarded by a legendary Monster.  Players compete with each other to reach the Treasure Vault, fighting the other players, the terrain, monsters and traps along the way.

Play is in turns, each player performing a single action of their choice, but many of the actions can involve other players, as a friend or as a foe.

A number of CLUE cards are used that need to be discovered, this will allow you to enter the Vault and defeat the Vault Monster.

Death is not a Heroes prerogative, and in Underworld you cannot die, instead you simply get beat up and may have to approach your mission in a new way, re-thinking your tactics and possibly trying to ally with another beaten up Hero to overcome the beater.

The game can be played as single session winner takes the glory, or it can be played as a campaign where your character can improve and grow stronger.
