Das dritte Abenteuer führt schließlich zur Zeit der Mittsommernacht nach Schweden. Any System! Any Setting!
Character, Worldbuilding, and Adventure
The appeal of the fighter is that it’s the most generic of character classes. It plays to the most basic rules, regardless of what system you’re using. There are no complicated and esoteric exceptions to be learned, making it perfect for new players. For those interested in roleplaying over tactics, it actually presents a chance to focus on character interactions and narrative because there are, metaphorically, fewer moving parts. At the same time, the variety of types of fighters, based on background, history, weapons, armor, and tactics, makes it a delightful class for veteran players. Where other classes have a broader set of abilities, the fighter allows a player to go deep, exploring maneuvers, feats, stunts, and other special tricks that allow them to be highly effective in almost any type of encounter. While certain other classes might require some explanation as to why they’re in a specific scenario, or simply might not fit with a particular setting, fighters are an appropriate character choice almost anywhere.
Because the Class Theory supplements are system-agnostic, this volume will delve more into the perceptions and archetypal personalities of the fighter rather than specific abilities. In places, some broad generalizations will be made. You should adapt the concepts to what best fits the mechanics, setting, and character that you’re working with inside the context of your campaign. As an example, while not all systems have classes, the word fighter will be used generically to represent the actual character element of that name, character archetypes and templates, and other conceptual details that fit the general spirit of the fighter. Because if we’re going to be intellectually honest, we need to just admit that everything in tabletop roleplaying, no matter how innovative, unique, and transcendent it may be, with always be compared to the baseline created by the game that started the hobby.
For the Player
This book is not about new abilities, optimizing your character build, or exploiting game mechanics for maximum effect. The intention of this volume is to help you tell your character’s story. By the end of this book, you’ll see the fighter in relation to the Three Pillars of Fantasy Storytelling, and use the unique features of the archetype to create unique characters, enhance your worldbuilding, and tell unique stories tailored to their roles and abilities.

The Thing under the Lab: In the small town of Raquel, Nevada there has been a rash of missing persons reported. Locals seem to think it is alien abductions or blame a covert government lab down the road.
The group—as vacationers or tourists— has been forced to stop in Raquel for gasoline or to fix a flat tire on the way to Reno or Las Vegas to gamble. The local gas station is closed for happy hour, forcing them to head to the local bar, the Ale-y-inn, to talk to the owner and get him to reopen the gas station. The barkeep warns them to stay away from a secret government lab down the road as they shoot on sight. While they are there, a man stumbles into the bar in a bloodied lab coat. Dr. Jordan, the town’s medical examiner, has been shot several times and he barely made it to the nearby bar from the morgue. He tells his crazy story to the bar about fungus that can take over human beings. He tells the group of foreigners to the town to trust no one in the town of Raquel. Dr. Jordan has lost a lot of blood and needs medical help to survive. From here it is up to the group to decide what to do. Save Dr. Jordan? Go to the morgue and investigate Dr. Jordan’s story? Hello and welcome, adventurers and Game Masters!
In this adventure your players will be tasked with finding and rescuing a local militia unit that went missing while investigating reports of strange activity at an old, long abandoned shrine in the mountains above the village of Krosstorp, in the southwestern region of the nation of Jarlburgh. What your players discovery is the revival of a long abandoned giantish shrine, and a major battle to reclaim the shrine and save the guards!
This supplement contains a completely original ONE SHOT adventure, fully detailed and ready for immediate use with very little preparation by the GM or the players! Inside you will find great Old-school art and a detailed map, with keyed encounters for each area. This module also includes a fully detailed map of the nation of Jarlburgh, done in the Old School style, with information for further exploration. A quick night of role-playing fun right at your fingertips!
This adventure is located in and around the village of Krosstorp and the garrison at Tower Suor, in the southwest corner of the kingdom of Jarlburgh. The ancient shrine the players will investigate lies in the mountains south and east of these landmarks. Jarlburgh is also the location of the Starry Knight Press module SK1 The Corrupt Temple (available for purchase on DriveThruRPG) and the upcoming module S4 Mines of Mayhem.
This module provides wonderful background information and additional areas for adventure for those GM’s setting their campaigns in the author’s ever expanding campaign world, which now comprises four different kingdoms: Jarlburgh, Alderburgh, The Red Eagle Barony, and Dùn Bhriste.
To make the GM’s job easier and in case your players don’t have heroes appropriate for this high level adventure, this module includes a carefully crafted set of PREGENERATED CHARACTERS, ready for immediate use in the game by players or the GM. Each of the characters is presented fully ready to play with all of the necessary stats and gear, including the magic items necessary to take on these titanic monsters! Ticket of Leave #10 features a detailed scenario in which convict-era investigators must investigate these ludicrous claims by travelling to the site of the reported devastation -- a remote corner of the colony, on the fringes of settlement. Can the wild stories of insects with 30-foot wingspans possibly signal the discovery of a strange new species? Or could the mad tales of the survivor really mask something even more bizarre? Only by undertaking this most unorthodox "bug hunt" will the investigators reach the truth ... but even then, will they be able to make the colony safe from future harm?
