“She laid down on the sidewalk/ she is somethin’ simply beautiful.”
- Puddle of Mudd, Psycho
Pregnant Block Mothers carrying submachine guns slung over their bulging bellies are a common sight in Lifer neighborhoods. These warrior-women are the first line of defense against Choicer and Fed-Gov incursions and raids: they are visible symbols of Lifer strength and resistance, charged with protecting their homes and families against outsiders.
Block Mothers walk patrol with other Lifer women, noting anything coming to their districts and instantly assessing the threat it represents. They are also teachers and breeders responsible for birthing and educating the next generation of Lifer children. Expanded Occupations: Block Mothers details life and death in the insular, paranoid and violent Lifer Enclaves.
