Series Pitch of the Month: Encore

The DramaSystem rules engine, from acclaimed designer Robin D. Laws, takes the basic structure of interpersonal conflict underlying fiction, movies and television and brings it to the world of roleplaying. This simple framework brings your creativity to the fore and keep a surprising, emotionally compelling narrative constantly on the move.

Similar to the ones in Hillfolk and Blood on the Snow, A Series Pitch is a brief which inspires you to run DramaSystem games in other times and places. Some are fantastical, others not. Think of a Series Pitch as a proposal for the types of characters the players might portray, and the sorts of events that might unfold as the story arises during play. Once the series gets rolling, you may periodically reach to the pitch for inspiration, or set it aside entirely, in favor of moments created spontaneously at the table.
