Flavorful Magic

Foods add flavor to the settings, both real and imagined.  France just wouldn’t feel as French without French cuisine.  The great American barbeque is as much a part of the Independence Day celebrations as fireworks.  Describing the tastes, texture and aroma of local food can transport your players into your campaign world in a way TV, movies and video games can not.

Most players don’t want to spend time discussing the menu of the local tavern.  They want to get to the action.  In the middle of that action, they’ll gulp down potions. Potions must have a taste, but many GMs overlook this chance to include sensory descriptions in their adventures without slowing down the action.

The most memorable cleric I ever had in one of my games, decided to bake her spells into cookies rather than brew potions.  (You’ll meet her below.)  I still remember her warning, “The chocolate chip cookies are cure light wounds.  The oatmeal raison cookies are random action.”  The same cleric also teamed up with the party druid to bake good berry muffins.

Here are some magical items you can use to spice up the edible magic in your game.

Included are new potions, ideas, feats and magical items to add some favorable spice to your game.

Price: $4.99
