Village Backdrop: Kerwyn's Pride (SNE)Publisher: Raging Swan Press

A System Neutral Edition GM’s Resource supplement by Mike Welham

Built upon the ruins of a pirate fleet doomed by a savage storm, the floating village of Kerwyn’s Pride now serves as a base from which to thwart piratical activity in the surrounding waters, a shipyard for damaged vessels and as the home of “reformed” pirate captain Vayla Hollan and her crew. The surrounding waters see much trade—three baronies have competing claims for the area—and Vayla acts as a neutral arbiter and toll collector for the competing nobles. Of course, contraband still flows through the village—Vayla hasn’t completely given up on her old lifestyle—but Kerwyn’s Pride is a relatively safe place for a weary crew to drop anchor…if it wasn’t for the anarchic villagers, swarms of deadly insects infesting a nearby island, a strange buzzing sound coming from the surrounding forest and the rumours of a terrible insectile demon taking an unwholesome interest in the village…

Village Backdrops are short, richly detailed supplements that each present a single village ready to insert into almost any home campaign. Perfect for use as a waystop on the road to adventure, as an adventure site themselves or as a PC’s home, Village Backdrop present the details so the busy GM can focus on crafting exciting, compelling adventures.

Supply Drops & Safehouses

Supply Drops & SafehousesPublisher: FeralGamersInc

A sourcebook for use with the Ghost Ops Modern Covert Operations RPG

Available here on DTRPG

This sourcebook provides rules for the use of safehouses
and supply drops during play, with special suggestions
for unusual situations. These can range from finding
a safehouse in an area where the Player’s agency has
nothing prepared to calling in a supply drop of firepower
into a country with strong border security.

No matter the need, this book has it covered.

In addition, the sourcebook contains a chapter full of
suggestions for safehouses and another for methods of
dropping supplies all over the globe. These examples
are kept mostly generic, though there are some examples
that can lend some personality to their existence in
game. Hunkering down for the night in a non-descript
hotel room is nowhere near as memorable and exciting
as having to fight for space in a street side motel against a
group of junkies who got there first.

Lastly, the book rounds out with a short chapter covering
scenario and campaign ideas for using this material. Just
getting to a safehouse can be an adventure in its own
right. And what happens when the ballistics drop you
requested falls into the hands of a local street gang?

Convicts & Cthulhu: Ticket of Leave #13 Un-StattedPublisher: Cthulhu Reborn

"Good Luck. Bad Luck. Neither Means Much When Facing the Cthulhu Mythos"

The convicts and settlers of the early penal colonies of Australia were, by our standards, highly superstitious people. To their way of thinking, the world was full of nebulous evil spirits that could bring misfortune and calamity. Fortunately long traditions of folk beliefs and practices -- including sundry apotropaic magics -- armed them with tools to defend themselves. Or so they believed. But when the unseen forces bedeviling your homes are truly the ancient horrors of the Great Old Ones, how much protection do hexafoil marks and concealed warding objects truly afford? Especially when human agents of the Mythos know the same superstitions ...

Ticket of Leave #13 is our largest supplement to-date for Convicts & Cthulhu. It looks at the superstitions and folk magic beliefs of late 18th and early 19th Century colonists in Australia. These people -- convicts and free settlers alike -- brought with them a wealth of folk remedies, ancient symbols, and traditions of secret object concealment. Many of these have only recently come to light thanks to the work of modern historians ... but the potential for such genuine pieces of colourful real-world 'magical' practice can offer much to your Convicts & Cthulhu campaign.

In addition to offering historical source material, this supplement also includes a lengthy scenario outline (really more of a campaign outline) that takes investigators to all corners of the colony of New South Wales. Sent to a remote settled region to investigate an odd incident in which a family and their homestead was extinguished by ... something ... that burst forth from the walls. This is soon repeated in a far-distant locality. What do these curious catastrophe have to do with an odd black-robed Frenchman recently arrived in Sydney? Any why has the local itinerant preacher suddenly gone missing? Can the investigators unravel the mysterious happenings before the entire colony descends into terror and anarchy?

Tickets-of-Leave are self-contained additions to the Convicts & Cthulhu setting for Lovecraftian roleplaying in the early penal colonies of Australia. Each includes a selection of game elements which can either be used collectively as a thumbnail sketch of a scenario, or can be used in isolation to provide pieces that enhance a scenario of your own invention.

This is not a standalone product, but relies upon the Convicts & Cthulhu setting also published by Cthulhu Reborn. The Convicts & Cthulhu core book is a lavishly illustrated 96-page sourcebook available in both PDF and print as a "Pay-What-You-Want" title.

Convicts & Cthulhu is designed to allow Call of Cthulhu Keepers and players to run scenarios and campaigns set in the penal colonies of early Australia. It particularly targets the historical period from 1795 to 1810.

I also, highly recommend using Hatchbox PLA. It may cost a bit more but it’s 100% worth it. Seriously.

Holy Mandate: The Lake RusePublisher: guanyu15

Just outside the Lonely Desert, on the edge of civilized lands stands a massive 200 ft., black cube known as The Brick. Glyphs and symbols adorn the brick, etched into its impossibly hardened sides in an ancient forgotten language. Some say the brick is the doorway between the living and the dead. Some say it is a gateway to another plane. Still others claim that the brick is the foundation for the entire world, and discovering its secrets will unlock the keys to the multiverse.

Every night, as the sun falls below the horizon, the glyphs on The Brick blaze to life in a hundred different hues. The Brick can be seen for miles and is a dazzling display, that is, before it vomits forth it's horde of undead. A seemingly steady stream of zombies, skeletons, and worse exit The Brick and roam the night, venturing out only as far as it would take them to return by the time the sun makes its appearance in the morning. Even worse, at random intervals throughout the year, The Brick releases a violent, negative shock-wave that destroys anything in its path. Tress, animals, even rocks are destroyed by this wave. Those that fall, rise again as undead versions of their past self.

Into this unique landscape clerics and holy orders of all types come to The Brick to train in destroying and controlling undead. The vast majority of the undead are lowly skeletons, zombies, and other common types, but every once in a while a truly intelligent undead will venture out and compel the undead waves to a specific task.

What secrets does The Brick hold? What treasure might be uncovered within its black sides? Gather your companions, grip your holy symbols, and bring light into true darkness as you come face to face with the mysteries of The Brick.
