    Players Introduction

    The adventure takes place in the north of Havenland, near to the Scrottish borders by the Kelderwater lake (see Hex M09 of The Haven Isles map).

    Ebeneezer Garbett, a local farmer from the mushroom-filled valley village of Otterdale, returned to the hamlet with tales of riches he had found. Now, no-one has seen him since, and he villagers are becoming ill with a strange fungal infection.


    Game Master's Information

    A farmer from the small village of Otterdale has discovered the ruins of an ancient Goman fortification. Half-buried in a hillside, it has been revealed by recent torrential rains.

    Taking the gold he discovered there back to the village, the farmer is unaware that he has disturbed a dormant fungal creature known as the Mullach Dubh – a mould that grows on the dead, absorbing their memories and re-animating their bodies into a terrible half-life.

    Unaware of this, the farmer -- Ebeneezer Garbett -- returned to his farmstead and succumbed to the toxic spores that he had breathed in. However, his stories had already drawn treasure seekers to the area in search of Goman riches. These adventurers, the Eagle’s Talon Adventuring Company, disappeared into the fortress and were likewise subsumed into the fungal colony.

    People in Otterdale who had contact with Ebeneezer have begun to succumb to the spores, growing sick and then returning from death as grim parodies of their former selves. Meanwhile, the controlling colony seeks to use these new ‘workers’ to rebuild the glories of the long-gone Goman Empire.


    This adventure is intended for low level play and can be scaled up or down accordingly. It should work best with 4× Level 1-4 player characters.

    It’s the hot and steamy, larger than life 70s in a big city somewhere in crime riddled America. You are not quite heroes and not quite bad guys, connected by blood or neighborhood.     What do you need to play?

    A few friends to play with, one of you will be a player that takes the mantle of Funk Master and runs the game for you, the others are players and will create some cats to cruise around in the city. Every one of you needs a few six sided dice (d6), best are three. A piece of paper to write up your character (or one of the character sheets from the back) and of course a pen to take down notes. Funky music is a must have, afro and bell-bottomed trousers are optional. And this PDF.

    Create your character based on the five core attributes Buff, Foxy, Groove, Soul and Wit. Select a Career to get a starting trait from a dozen available, including:

    The core mechanic is simple: Roll 2d6 modified by Advantages and Disadvantages from traits and situational circumstances. Every 5+6 you roll is a success. Thats it. There is a bit more to it but not much. Easy and fast for groovy action!

    Cargo Shuttle

    The Cavalo-class of cargo shuttles were designed by TriWorld Transport (a division of Trinity Exocorp) under military contract to carry industry standard cargo containers. Depending on the type of container slotted, a Cavalo can serve as a simple freight hauler, passenger carrier, prisoner transport, or weapons platform. Additional containers have been developed to serve as everything from office space, to medical facilities, to living quarters. There is no end to the variety of roles these shuttles could potentially fulfill.

    The lightly-armed Cavalo (Portuguese for “horse”) comes in three varieties: a small version that carries a single HMT-225 container, and two larger variants that haul either one or two of the big HMT-337 containers. The variants are designated the CV225, the CV337, and the CV337-D (for “doublewide”). This product presents the three varieties of shuttle, plus several container layouts in both sizes.

    The Cavalo’s have powerful VTOL engines and gravitics to support hovering and precise maneuvering. A built-in grapple and winch system can be used to retrieve, move, or deploy containers. Dedicated couplings are designed to secure the pod in place, supply external power, and allow easy access between the container and the shuttle cabin during flight.

    The Cavalo package contains three highly detailed, layered PDF files:

    K4: March of the Windmills is a social and traveling adventure built for characters of 2th level, where the players work to thwart the mad schemes of Dolceo the Miller, who has begun a rampage upon the countryside using his animated windmill. The players will need to discover why the crazed miller is on his rampage and how he’s animating the windmill. Then, the players will have to race to reach the mobile building and rescue the miller’s victims before he reaches the next village in his path.

    I've created paper deckplan posters for several of the ships from my Future Armada and Armada Codex product lines. The product for sale here is a digital image of the Jade/Remora/Cavalo poster and is intended for use in gaming via computer or with a table-top projector. These are 18x24 inch jpeg images at 150 dpi. Two images are included: the "front" and "back" of the poster. The maps are at 1 inch = 5 feet scale with a grid built into the floor.

    The poster is 18 x 24 inches and double-sided. Note that, size-wise, this is like one of my full-size posters turned sideways and cut down the middle. The front of the poster displays Jade and the CV225 cargo shuttle while the back shows the Remora deckplans.

    Jade is a Seeker-class scoutship with bunks for 4. The Cavalo CV225 is a two man shuttle with swappable cargo containers. Remora is designed to burn through an enemy hull for hostile takeovers. It has beds for six and a sizable cargo hold, making it a decent little freighter as well. The deckplans are at 1 inch equals 5 feet scale and have a one inch grid built in.

    Jade is from the Redux Alpha issue of Future Armada, 
    Remora is one of the ships presented in the Mercury Trio issue of Future Armada, 
    and the CV225 cargo shuttle can be found in the Cavalo issue of Armada Codex. 

    These products detail the ships and their interiors, and also include the deckplans (on a plain white background) broken into pages for printing.
