A thief in training tried robbing a crypt and failed miserably, to the extent that he’s no longer alive. Now he’s dying for another crack at it. Unfortunately, being dead already, he’s encountering a bit of difficulty… 

The Almost Thief is part of a series of mini-dungeons designed to drop into existing adventures or campaigns. Use them as side quests or a way of getting in a quick adventure when you’re short on time.

LexOccultum: Roi-de-Rats

Roi-de-Rats is a major campaign and source of information about 18th century Paris.
In this campaign, the players uncover the truth about the Cour des Miracles, the underworld of Paris, and the myth of a secret son of the old king. In Roi-de-Rats the heroes will face the assassins of the Theatre de la Morte, the royal puppets, a secret society composed of the former influencers of Louis XIV, and discover the truth about the famous Poison Affair. This campaign will take the heroes from the streets of Paris to Versailles, on to southern France, and all the way back to the hidden chambers of the old temple area in Paris. 

Roi-de-Rats is a zoologic phenomenon also called Rattenkönig (german), in which a number of rats whose tails have become intertwined are bound together to form a single entity. The campaign is not for the faint-hearted or hack-and-slashers, it’s complex and demanding for both players and the game master.

A year ago, the famous occultist Übel Staal decided to sell a very special item he had managed to get his hands on some twenty years ago. He knew, already back then, that the item itself was a dangerous possession, and possibly a death sentence for him. The seller was an old cabbalist in urgent need of money though, and he had to flee from Pfalz. The item was a coin, in fact, one of the mythical silver coins used to pay Judas, and it was said to carry a great secret. This is the adventure revealing that secret. Year of the Lord 1743.

Alchemists, occultists, and secret societies dig deep into old mysteries and ancient obscurities. The Enlightenment is not only about breaking free from old institutions and structures, but also about discovering what has been hidden for hundreds of years, even millennia. The Illuminati, the Freemasons, the old Templars, and other secret societies hide in dark chambers, plotting for a new world order, or seeking to uncover the mysteries of dark arts and ancient wisdoms.

The nobles and aristocrats are a dying breed, living in decadence and excess, while the common people suffer in poverty. This is an era of enlightenment, but also of ignorance. Few know anything about the growing darkness; the vampires and other offspring of the devil. While conspiracies grow below the surface, kings and priests preach about submission and obedience. The purpose of the Xuan Wu line of leisure transports is to provide comfortable accommodations and a variety of entertainment facilities for about 50 passengers in a mid-sized ship. Aves Engineering originally developed the craft under military contract as an armored transport. After the war, the design was modified to cater to civilian clientele. A single Armadillo-class shuttle pod is carried, as are half a dozen life boats. The large cargo bay could easily be used as a hangar if desired, but is more often used exclusively for cargo (including the ubiquitous HMT containers) and luggage. The standard crew includes a dozen human personnel plus a cadre of robotic servitors.

The name Xuan Wu is taken from Chinese mythology where it is a northern constellation associated with winter and represented by a snake-entwined black tortoise. It was the turtle-like shape of the ship’s upper hull that inspired the name. Amenities include a gym, dance floor, and cinema as well as a spacious lounge and small arcade. These are the settings we have used to get perfect prints on our printers. Printers vary as do different types of filaments and how prints behave in different types of weather! You will need to get comfortable with your printer and how it prints in the hot, cold, and humidity. Regardless of the printer you choose, I recommend keeping your room cool and dry. I also, highly recommend using Hatchbox PLA. It may cost a bit more but it’s 100% worth it. Seriously.

What is CROSS?

CROSS is a clandestine spy agency also known as the Catholic Response Organization to Strategize and Strike. CROSS was created by rogue Cardinal James McDonnell to take the Pope's prayers and convert them into actions.  He and his command staff create missions to protect the flock from evil using cutting-edge technology coupled with saintly magic honed over 2000 years of history.

This is a new monster for the Hero Kids system, a Roc. The Roc is described, as is its behaviour, and there is a short adventure hook.

Also included are monster cards and three miniatures for the Roc. Each comes in two versions, a full colour one and one in black and white, allowing children to colour in the Roc themselves if they wish.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

One page is the front cover and one page the front matter.
