  • 01/11/19--12:26: Wing Generator
  • Wing GeneratorPublisher: Ken Wickham

    sparrow, mockinbird, fly, bee, etc....

This is a flexible animal generator that is meant to aid or take the place of a Gamemaster (GM) for answering questions or finding the clues, information, or describing wings of animals. A chart optimized for 1d12 but with results for 2D6, 1D20, and 3D6 systems is included.

This a lists of 144 animal names that have wings or glide (insects, butterflies, dragonflies, birds, water birds, flyinfish, flying squid)and flightless birds. It does not show any pictures nor drawings.

This system is meant to give a name of an animal used as a keyword, that when put together with the situation helps to generate wing types either real, mythical, fictional, or made at that moment. The keywords are meant to help trigger thoughtful and inspirational ideas.

Included are 6 loosely categories: insect, dragonfly, butterfly, bird, water, and can't fly. Some exceptions are added into these categories such as squid & bat. Categories have differing amounts but all together total 144 results in the entire chart.

This system works well for adding random ideas into story writing, solo gaming, or to aid a GM in creating descriptions of wing-like animals, creatures, or even mutations. It may even be used in addition to an existing stat-block to re-skin it into something fresh and new.

This product is similar to the Fact Generator. It is intended to be a paid upgrade to work with the Fact Generator, Animal Generator, Description Generator, Outdoor Setting Generator, Indoor Setting Generator, and Character Generator or be used separately.

2 pages: It's first page is the image shown on the cover thumbnail with the instructions and example, and the second page is the chart turned longways 144 results.

Seafoot Games - Mine (Forest) | 20x30 BattlemapPublisher: Seafoot Games

      Mine (Forest)

Mines are hardy things. Some can be prosperous, others—abandoned. This luscious forest mine may look idyllic, but things are rarely as they seem…

      Adventure Seeds

      • You walk in on the miners being slaughtered by elves; they broke their peace-treaty when they entered their forest, and terrorised the land by building a mine. The elves ask you to leave and let them serve justice—the miners beg you to save their lives, claiming they were sent in by their lord, unaware of any treaty. They were just trying to feed their families…
      • Families in the nearby village haven’t seen or heard from their men for quite some time, and their loved ones, worried, have sent you to investigate. But the miners have been slaughtered by the elves for trespassing, and the stench of death has attracted large and terrible creatures…
      • The miners are rallying to attack the elves, after they nearly killed them for cutting down trees. They had watched many of their loved ones slowly starve to death before the noble came and employed them with this new industry. The noble had tried to ask nicely, but the elves had refused—so the miners had taken the trees anyway. The elves were being unreasonable, and wouldn’t accept any payment. The miners won’t go back to the way things were before; if they retaliate now the elves will leave them alone, everyone knows they’re cowards—and if you help them they might never come back!

Adventure Framework 51: Assault on DunmarkPublisher: Pickpocket Press

      Welcome to Adventure Frameworks!

We make sweet mini adventures - stand alone, drop in adventure 'skeletons', made to facilitate sandbox style play - for $1 (B&W) or $2 (colour).

Each adventure framework is set in a generic medieval or ancient fantasy location, with enough meat to enable the GM to improvise details (with minimal prep) and adapt to player choices.

System wise, these adventures use the Low Fantasy Gaming RPG (an old school/modern mix d20 based game; free PDF - Link), but are easily adapted to any d20 system.

So what do you get for your hard earned coin?

Adventure Framework 51 Assault on Dunmark consists of:

      • A downloadable, bookmarked PDF (15 A4 pages, excluding cover & credits, in (i) full colour, (ii) line art or greyscale with parchment background, and (iii) line art or greyscale with white background).
      • The Core Adventure: Moderate - High danger. "Aye, you heard it right; Lady Petria slew young Moson in a drunken duel – now Lord Foster is rallying his army to march on Dunmark, raze the keep, and execute his son’s killer. Word is they’re after sellswords to bolster their ranks. Good time to be a mercenary, I guess?"
      • In summary, Assault on Dunmark is a “Mass Battle” scenario, involving hundreds of warriors fighting over the Celdwyn’s isolated keep, nestled between Drelnor Forest and the Trackless Moors.
      • Rumours & Hooks suggestions.
      • Quality Colour Illustrations.
      • Professional Colour Map by Maciej Zagorski of The Forge Studios LLC.

But don't take my word for it - google 18 Halls of the Dwarf Lord and 16 Delecarte's Carnival of Wonders to download two free examples.

      Now, there's a few things AF's don't come with:

      • Boxed Text: Every time a GM reads boxed text, an ad-lib fairy dies, and I've got too much blood on my hands already. Paraphrasing and natural speech from the GM keeps players guessing what's pre-planned, and what's off-the-cuff-I-totally-planned-that awesome. And we wants that awesome, precious. We wants it.
      • No Grid: Maps, where provided, don't tend to have grid lines. It's easier to add a grid than to take one away. If you prefer a grid or hex, you may need to add it via Roll20, GIMP v2.10, etc.
      • US English. I'm in Sydney Australia, so my work is in UK English.

Armed with a handful of Adventure Frameworks, you can sandbox like there's no tomorrow. Browse through your library of AF's, throw out a few hooks, and let the players bite where they may. Whatever direction they take, you'll be ready to handle it with aplomb.

      Hope you enjoy.

Note: This AF is not in the Midlands Low Magic Sandbox Setting book/PDF.

    • 01/12/19--11:33: Themeson Keep
    • Themeson KeepPublisher: Columbia Games Inc.

Themeson is disputed land, seized from the Thardic Republic just over a decade ago. Although technically part of the Kingdom of Rethem, Themeson is more of an independent petty state controlled by the Cohorts of Gashang, a fighting order dedicated to Agrik, god of fire and war. The order is strongly influenced by the priestesses of the Order of the Eight Demons, the dominant Agrikan clerical order in the Thardic Republic. The Cohorts took control of Themeson just over five years ago as part of their split from the Red Shadows of Herpa, a rival Agrikan order. Since then, the order has not sworn fealty to King Chafin III of Rethem and has also publicly maintained its independence from the Thardic Republic. Talks are taking place with representatives of both realms to settle the matter.

Life on Themeson's lands is harsh for peasants, craftsmen, and others who aren't part of the Agrikan orders. The conflicts of the past 12 years have reduced the population considerably. The agrarian economy is barely sufficient for the region; many folk go hungry. The region is short on labor and some fields lie fallow for lack of peasants to work them; demand for slaves is high. Those who cannot pay the abusive fines and taxes have no choice but to cover their debts by selling themselves or their families into slavery.

Themeson was once a stronghold of the Theocracy of Tekhos, a brutal regime devoted to the god Morgath, lord of chaos and master of the undead. A dark legacy of that time lingers over the area.

The Themeson Keep article describes the settlement's history, government, religion, economics, and military forces. It includes color GM and player maps of the settlement, color floor plans of the keep, and brief descriptions of many local craftsmen and other locations in the town. Special attention is given to the locations related to the Morgathian legacy, including the a watchtower, mausoleum, and ruined chapel.

This article supplements other Columbia Games products: Kingdom of Rethem, Cohorts of Gashang, Order of the Eight Demons, HârnMaster Religion.

Agrik: Order of the Eight DemonsPublisher: Columbia Games Inc.

The Order of the Eight Demons is a clerical order of the Church of Agrik, god of fire and war. The order emerged from bloody schism just over five years ago when female clerics of the Order of Herpa the Mace chose to chart their own destiny. The separatists toppled the Herpan establishment with sudden violence and have quickly become the dominant Agrikan religious order in the Thardic Republic, while also controlling a keep and substantial lands in the Kingdom of Rethem.

Like the Herpans from whom they split, the Order of the Eight Demons places a high degree of emphasis on divination through the interpretation of signs, portents, and omens in a variety of forms. In addition to astrology and an Agrikan form of tarot, they examine sacrificial entrails or blood spatter and the dancing shapes of flames or sulfurous smoke.

What sets the order apart is its all-female membership and dogmatic emphasis on pain, particularly the agony of childbirth. Pain holds a special place for most Agrikans, whether inflicting or enduring it, and many orders of the faith perform some sort of ritualized self-mutilation, such as tattooing, branding, or flagellation. The torture of captives or sacrificial victims is also common. But for the priestesses of the Eight Demons, the concept is central to their identity. One of their core tenets is that there is no pain as exquisite as that of birthing a child; in this state, the supplicant is thought to be as close to the divine as possible. By extension, the mere fact of their sex makes women more godly and thus more apt to truly comprehend the ways of their harsh god. In addition, the Order of the Eight Demons has earned a grim reputation for the sexual torture of male captives and sacrificial victims.

The Order of the Eight Demons article describes the order's history and current situation, membership and recruitment, organization and practices, and scriptures and lore.

This article supplements other Columbia Games products: Cohorts of Gashang, Themeson Keep, HârnMaster Religion, Kingdom of Rethem, Republic of Tharda.

    • 01/12/19--11:34: Agrik: Cohorts of Gashang
    • Agrik: Cohorts of GashangPublisher: Columbia Games Inc.

The Cohorts of Gashang is a fighting order dedicated to Agrik, god of fire and war. The order was formed in 714 when Agrikan warriors clawed their way to power through treachery and violence during the schism that also gave rise to the clerical Order of the Eight Demons. Faced with potential enemies on all sides, the order has recruited aggressively and indiscriminately. The order counts among its members the worst sorts from both the Thardic legions and Rethemi chivalry and has a reputation for violence and brutality that is considered excessive even for Agrikans.

Although indiscriminate recruiting has rapidly increased the order's numbers, most of the new men have been of relatively low quality. Few have any sort of true religious fervor, and most are little better than mercenaries. The order's leaders do little to curb the excesses of the men, believing that a reputation for brutality serves as an acceptable alternative for true discipline. Although the order now has companies of murderous warriors, those units lack discipline and martial skill. The order's hold on Themeson Keep (on the border between the Kingdom of Rethem and the Thardic Republic) may be relatively secure but its forces are over-stretched, caught between the Thardic legions and the Red Shadows of Herpa, a rival Agrikan order.

The Cohorts of Gashang article describes the order's history and current situation, membership and recruitment, and organization and practices.

This article supplements other Columbia Games products: Themeson Keep, Order of the Eight Demons, Kingdom of Rethem, HârnMaster Religion.

$60.000 i guld.
